The Balerno and District Schools Pipe Band is a voluntary-led organisation providing a unique opportunity for local children to learn, perform and compete, playing traditional pipe and drums.
Information about the project:
Sending band members out in full kilt and jackets is a hugely important part of the journey for the children. It enables the Band to play in competitions and it makes performances particularly special for participants and the local community. Because the Band continues to grow, an application was made for funding to purchase two more children’s kilts.
Feedback:
Funding from the Pentland Community Chest allowed the Band to complete an order of six new kilts. This helped the band to continue to develop and to compete successfully in national pipe band competitions.
