The PTA runs events and activities and raises money to provide additional resources for the School.

Information about the project:

Currie Primary PTA applied for funding to purchase four football goals and twenty four playground balls as part of an initiative to enhance physical education at Currie Primary School. The school’s P.E. teacher, provides a range of activities for children to encourage them to get active while having fun and the school is fortunate to have extensive grass pitches which children use at break time. The PTA intended placing the new goal posts on the field which will be used for football, lacrosse and handball. The playground balls would be used for P.E. lessons and also during break and lunchtime for recreational play. They would also be used by Currie Primary School football teams during their regular training and fixtures with visiting teams.

Feedback:

The equipment was purchased and the football nets were installed on the playing fields and are now in daily use. The funding has enabled pupils to play in smaller groups and has enabled the establishment of a dedicated play area for girls – something the girls had requested.
