The Pentland Community Chest (PCC) Committee met last night for the fourteenth time to consider sixteen applications that have been made between 1 December 2023 and 31 May 2024. Eleven applications met the funding criteria and will receive awards. The successful organisations and projects are:
- Wildfire Explorer Unit – Purchase of new frying pans for camp cooking
- Balerno Village Screen – Contribution towards upgrade of AV software
- The Mill at St. Joseph’s – Purchase of outdoor seating and buzzers
- Juniper Green Tennis Club – Purchase of replacement storage shed
- Currie High School – Purchase of baking equipment for the Baking Club
- PALM Dementia Café – Funding towards the production of some publicity leaflets
- 42nd Pentland (Currie) Scout Group – Purchase of six hammocks, tarps and treehugger straps
- Currie High School – Purchase of second hand golf equipment for the Golf Club
- Pentland Caledonia Pipes & Drums – Funding to adapt a drum for use by a young person in the group
- Balerno Children’s Gala – Purchase of replacement portable PA system
- Dean Park Primary School – Purchase of goals, training posts, goalkeeper aids and hurdles for the Football Club
